There’s so much coming out of PDC I just can’t keep up! I can read all the news, but I just can’t keep up with all the posts! I’ve decided to just list a bunch of stuff I’d go reseach/read up on. A few things I’ll throw out (Angus Logan is doing a great job of spitting out the O12 info… he’s onsite):
- WSS SP2 shipping @ the end of the month!!!
- Windows Workflow Foundation: workflow at the core of the OS! That’s huge for SharePoint & CMS, not to mention other apps. But, this is not a BizTalk replacement.
- SharePoint v3 as rights trimming… something I’ve complained about
- Son of a SmartPart: ASP.NET 2.0 Web Parts in WSS “v2”
- Arpan talks about “The Future of WSS, SPS, and CMS revealed at PDC”
- Angus has pix of the O12 UI!
- Scoble talks to (and demos) Julie Larson-Green about the evolution of O12 UI on Channel9
- LINQ... read more on .NET Undocumented
- Vista’s sidebar is back!
- Vista has a slick feature called Smart Search (that right?) where it will “learn” what apps you use most and keep them loaded in memory. Memory hog? Yeah… now you can stick a USB jump drive in and Vista recognizes it as more memory!!!
- Vista is beautiful!!! (duh)
- Office 12 is beautiful!!!
I love how they did a bunch of videos and interviews with some of the players of the new stuff and they are all posted on Channel9… very slick!
