Jacksonville Code Camp 2006 - August 26, 2006

Now that the Tampa Code Camp is over and done with, we can start looking forward to another great community event. Time to start pimping my home town code camp!

The Jacksonville Code Camp is next up on the Florida circuit and will be held at the FCCJ South Campus (downtown) on Saturday, August 26, 2006, just over a month from now. Organized by the Jacksonville Developer User Group JAXDUG, we're going to be in for yet another great community event. So mark it down on your calendars.

Like most Code Camps, I'm sure there will be a full spread of topics discussed. I'm going to work with some local and regional SharePoint experts to hopefully put together a SharePoint 2007 track that includes topics on Windows SharePoint Services v3 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 including Web Content Management and even (hopefully) Excel Services & InfoPath Server. If you're into SharePoint v3/2007 and you're interested in speaking, make sure you submit a session and please let me know as well. I'm not arranging the agenda or session offerings, but if we have a good spread of SharePoint 2007 related content, I'm hoping we'll have a good shot at lining up an entire track on just WSS v3 & MOSS 2007! I'm thinking we'll need anywhere from 5-7 sessions to warrant our own track.

Do I need to register and if so, how do I register?
Yes, you will need to register. As with any code camp, facilities can only hold so many people so registrations are required. At the moment the registration site is not up but when it is, I'll be sure to post the information along with the URL on my blog.

Don't know what a Code Camp is or not familiar with the concept?
Then you should read the Code Camp Manifesto. Basically, it's a free Saturday event filled with sessions presented by local speakers on topics that interest developers.

Interested in speaking?
Anyone is welcome to speak. There are four types of talks: (1) code-focused, (2) chalk talk, (3) developing the developer (is that Lego Mindstoms?), and (4) bootcamp. Get more information on being a speaker, as well as obtaining the speaker submission form.
