My SharePoint v3/2007 Book Recommendations (as of February 28, 2007)

Now that a few books have been released for WSS v3 / MOSS 2007 I figured I'd update the recommended reading page on my blog with my favorites. If you're looking for a complete list of all the books that have been released (as well as upcoming ones), look no further than Mike Walsh's WSS v3 FAQ list here.

Here's a run down the three I'd recommend for your bookshelf if you had to go shopping today, with a bit of commentary (then again, if you were doing some last minute shopping because my birthday is tomorrow, I'll spare you the stress: I want a Zune). Disclaimer: I did contribute two chapters to two of the following books... don't want you this is a shot at pushing sales. :)

Developer's Guide to Windows SharePoint Services v3 - by Todd Bleeker & others
This book contains a ton of material on just about every development topic related to WSS v3. Just because it's got Todd's name on the cover, know that you're getting insight from quite a few people as quite a few other SharePoint leaders in the business contributed to this book. I contributed two chapters to this book: one on the ASP.NET 2.0 page life cycle & the differences between WSS v2 / ASP.NET 2.0 / WSS v3 Web Part implementations and another chapter on advanced Web Part development.
Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 Administrator's Companion - by Bill English & others
This book is great for those installing, configuring, or managing a MOSS 2007 installation. As with the previous book, there are many SharePoint leaders who contributed to this book so you're getting a wealth of knowledge from various sources. I contributed two chapters to this book: one on the Publishing features (aka: Web Content Management) and one on migrating from MCMS to WCM in MOSS.
Microsoft SharePoint: Building Office 2007 Solutions in C# 2005 - by Scot Hillier
Scot's latest was sitting on my doorstop when I got back from a meeting this morning. WOW... I can't believe how much is in this book in just a mere 500 pages! Chapter two includes just under 30 pages on creating your own MOSS development environment using Virtual Server 2005 with multiple virtual machines... your own mini virtual farm! Very nice!

A few titles yet to be released, but I'm eagerly awaiting (already preordered).

Inside Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 - by Patrick Tisseghem
Professional SharePoint 2007 Development -by John Holliday, John Alexander, Jeff Julian, Eli Robillard, Matt Ranlett, Dan Attis, and Tom Rizzo

Yes there are some others out there. Take this list in the context that I'm an English speaking developer, so I'm not really interested in the non-English books, hence why some may not be listed.
