Back in January I blogged about two VHT's I had been working on that were published on MSDN. Recently two more were published for WSS 3.0 developers:

Hopefully the latter one will provide some help to those of you working on custom timer jobs in SharePoint (WSS 3.0 or MOSS 2007). I've been getting quite a few comments and emails about my timer job blog posts & articles (here, here, here and here) since they have been posted. I've got another article that's much more in-depth that will be on MSDN soon... I'll let you know when that is available as well.

More VHT's coming soon! :)

[Update 5/1/2008 @ 730a] There is now an in-depth article on MSDN about creating custom timer jobs. If you have trouble please check this out as there is a ton of additional info here. Post: More Help on Creating Custom Timer Jobs

# self registration : problem adding user in a group 4/30/2008 11:46 AM Sonal
Gravatar Hi Ac ,
I have followed your article for form based authentication using dual mode and was very glad after getting solution I have learned a lot in this processes ,
Now I am trying to have self registration system, my problem is I am enable to add user to a particular
“Group “programmatically
Below is my code:
spWeb.Groups("Viewers").AddUser( _
String.Format("{0}:{1}", System.Web.Security.Membership.Provider.Name.ToLower(), user.UserName.ToLower()), user.Email, user.UserName, "Self Registration")
But the problem is whenever I am adding the user it is adding in “ALL PEOPLE”
But it is not in "Viewers" as we mention in the code .
Is there anything that we are missing out please guide in this regard
Thanking you
Sonal

All Comments Are Filtered & Moderated
Unfortunately comment spammers are just too effecient and are constantly dirtying up blogs with irrelevant and unwanted comments trying to improve their standing on search engines. All comments on this blog are moderated. I do not censor comments, but I don't approve comments with vulger language or those soliciting products. Most of the time comments are approved within a few hours of being submitted with the only exception when I'm traveling.

Why are you asking for my email address?
The only reason I'm asking for your email address, which isn't required to submit a comment, is to provide a gravatar if you've created an account for yourself and associated your email address with a small image. If you have a gravatar created for the email address you submit, it will appear next to your comment. Otherwise nothing will appear.

What is a gravatar?
A gravatar is a "globally recognized avatar." You can get more information about gravatars, as well as create your own for free, at www.gravatar.com. You can also view my gravatar here.
