Microsoft just published three brief videos offering a sneak peek to what you’ll see in SharePoint 2010. The videos, an intro one, one for IT Pro’s and one for developers, is the first news Microsoft is sharing on the new version. Want more info? You got to hit the SharePoint Conference 2009 in Vegas in October! All three videos are available from the SharePoint blog:

Gravatar Looks like their servers are already having issues loading the videos.

Gravatar The overview video is the weakest. Definitely not a compelling video sneak peak. He briefly mentions the new features and spends the entire time telling us what we already know from 2007! The developer sneak peak is much better.

Gravatar Hi Andrew

Do you have any clues as to what version of Silverlight SP2010 will likely ship with? It would be a shame if it couldn't leverage all the benefits of SL3 oob but from bits I've read it seems that the crucial ASP.NET control from SL2 has been dropped. Understand if this is NDA info but I'm sure many others like me will be keen for the earliest heads up on this important point.

Thanks

Gravatar Matt-
You're right, that's an NDA question so I can't comment on the specific answer. But I ask: what would be required on the server / in SharePoint to do SL3 stuff? SL is all about the client... and since it can do whatever SL2 can do + more, does it really matter?

Gravatar Thanks for the swift response Andrew. I haven't got my hands dirty with SL3 yet, just been keeping an eye on all the cool looking stuff that is being blogged (like out of browser applications). I'm hoping from your response that we won't have to concern ourselves too much with the SL version support in SP2010 which is what I would have expected.

Unfortunately comment spammers are just too effecient and are constantly dirtying up blogs with irrelevant and unwanted comments trying to improve their standing on search engines. All comments on this blog are moderated. I do not censor comments, but I don't approve comments with vulger language or those soliciting products. Most of the time comments are approved within a few hours of being submitted with the only exception when I'm traveling.

Why are you asking for my email address?
The only reason I'm asking for your email address, which isn't required to submit a comment, is to provide a gravatar if you've created an account for yourself and associated your email address with a small image. If you have a gravatar created for the email address you submit, it will appear next to your comment. Otherwise nothing will appear.

What is a gravatar?
A gravatar is a "globally recognized avatar." You can get more information about gravatars, as well as create your own for free, at www.gravatar.com. You can also view my gravatar here.
