SPTechCon Boston Session Wrapup

It was a quick trip for me, but nice to see old friends and meet new people doing cool stuff around SharePoint 2010. I presented two sessions this morning at SPTechCon, one on the Intro to the SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model and one on Creating RIA Apps in SharePoint 2010. Thanks to everyone who came… esp. those who had to deal with me stepping on the horribly placed spike bar powering the projector, killing the screen for a few minutes and those who stayed late for my second session. This was a quick 24hr trip and I didn’t get to run into everyone I hoped to see.

As promised, I’ve uploaded the slides & demos on the Critical Path Training Members only section of our site. Just login and you’ll see the download.

I have been trying to install your Client Object Model Demos and when I try to create a new site using the ClientOM template, I get an error that the site template requires the Feature {8581a8a7-cf16-4770-ac54-260265ddb0b2}. According to Google, this is the PremiumSite feature which is part of the Enterprise Features.

We are only running Standard SharePoint Server and ...

Is this feature required for the demo to function or only because it was part of your environment when you made the site template?

Do you know if it is possible to just activate this feature?

@Steve - My demo doesn't require any Enterprise Features... the sample was created using the OOB Team Site template, I created two lists, filled them up with some data, then saved it as a template. You can look at the source and recreate the lists yourself, or you can get a copy of the Enterprise version of SharePoint (trial would work).
