Career analysis...

Wow… seems like something is in the water.

First Rob Howard left Microsoft to found his own company (follow-up why he left here ), the my dad resigned from the Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday after being there for 10 years for new challenges, and now George Tenent left the CIA today to spend more time with his family. Who’s next? Anyone? Can you hear me now? …

Two of them (Rob Howard and my dad) left after setting a specified number of years at their positions before they would reevaluate where they were and what they wanted to do. For Rob it was 5 years… for my dad it was 10. Pretty cool if you ask me… they all (including Tenet) had plans, stuck to them, and decided to step up to new challenges rather than the status quo.

Makes me think… what’s my plan? Where do I want to be in X years? What do I really want to do? I’m not even 30 and still learning a ton of stuff in this industry (yes, I still plan a “who am I” post soon)… that’s on my personal to do list.
