Installing the MOSS 2007 SDK is supposed to add a handful of Visual Studio code snippets for creating features to deploy custom workflows to your SharePoint sites. Unfortunately the registration process doesn’t work or fails so the snippets don’t show up.
To fix this, you need to launch the Code Snippet Manager in Visual Studio 2005 from the Tools menu, click Add, and browse to the following directory: c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\xml\1033\Snippets\SharePoint Server Workflow. If you don’t see the Code Snippet Manager (I hate how Visual Studio hides certain menu items under certain installations), right-click a blank area of the toolbar and select Customize. Then click the Commands tab and select the Tools category. Grab the Code Snippet Manager… from the Commands list and drag it onto the toolbar. Click Close on the Customize dialog… now you can click the Code Snippets Manager button in the toolbar.
Ted helped me figure out where the snippets were… posted with his permission as the guy still doesn’t have a blog!comments powered by Disqus
