Ever heard a SharePoint portal, portal area, WSS site, site collection, top level site, web site in IIS [insert many more here] called a “site”? That’s a problem… one word can mean so many things.
Someone finally had enough and tries to set everyone straight. Todd Bleeker has a great post, adopted from a post in the Mindsharp SharePoint Yahoo group mailing list, on what a “site” is in the SharePoint world.
