I got a Zune (and a killer set of headphones)

Well, I got my wish and my fabulous wife scored big points getting me a black Zune for my birthday yesterday. She did a great job of throwing me off, taking the player out of the box and sticking it in the pocket of a new pair of jeans… damn she’s good!

Still getting used to it, but early feedback is positive! The Zune software is very easy to use, although it took a bit for me to figure out how to tell it to not sync automatically (music collection > Zune… I only want a subset of my music on it, so I can also move over some podcasts I want to check out. I didn’t think I’d use the video feature… but boy am I wrong. The screen isn’t too small, and it’s got a great playback! Got a few webcasts I’ve had on my desktop for a few months copied over for viewing on that next long flight (MVP Summit, cross-country flight, here I come!).

Now if I could only figure out how to go back to the “now playing” screen once I’ve navigated away from it…

My other big present from my parents was a pair of the Bose QC3 Noise Cancelling headphones. VERY nice… looking forward to getting some use out of these for my cross-country flight in just over a week!
