» Very impressive pictures. If you didn’t (and I didn’t) really appreciate the power of these storms before, the fact that it washed out a major interstate bridge (I-10) in Pensacola, FL should drive the point home. I hear it’s adding 2.5 hours to the travel time for those who usually use that bridge. We have friends who’s parent’s house in Pensacola has two trees lying on it. As for us in Jacksonville, FL we are still cleaning up from Hurricane Frances. The downed trees & branches that have been piled up on the street in my ‘hood stil haven’t been picked up. Not knocking the county, they have a ton of work to do and are working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, and have brought external contractors in. Just takes time.
