This past week I was in Las Vegas, NV for the annual fall SharePoint Connections conference. This is one show I look forward to every year in part because it’s a good show and also because it gives me another op to make it to one of my favorite cities. Unfortunately this show didn’t go as well as I had planned it.
Due to some personal issues I couldn’t fly out until the last minute before the bulk of my four sessions (three of which were on Wednesday). I had been fighting a head cold for the better part of a week. Murphy’s Law kicked in and I got nailed with the head cold the night I arrived (or at least I thought that’s what it was). I had three sessions on Wednesday starting at 1015a. For those of you in my session, I’m not sure if you could tell, but I felt horrible. During that session I went back and forth between being freezing & burning up… not to mention my voice was steadily going. Well, long story short, after my three sessions, I was fried. When I woke up Thursday, my voice was completely gone (doc says I have laryngitis) & I was in bad shape.
Unfortunately I had to cancel my last session on LINQ performance. Guess there’s a first time for everything. I didn’t leave my hotel room all day Thursday… in fact this was the first time in 10+ years that I have been to Las Vegas and not played a single hand of blackjack (a travesty!) nor did I make it to SharePint on Wednesday night. To those who sat through any of my three sessions, I owe you a big thank you for your patience with my shot voice and how I was a bit spacy at times.
At any rate, as promised, I’ve posted the slides & code to all my sessions, including the cancelled one, on the Critical Path Training Members only section (look on the Presentations page for AC’s SharePoint Connections Fall 2010 Sessions). A valid login is required, but it’s free to create one.
