In just a few weeks I’ll be at TechEd 2014 in Houston, TX to present two sessions. Both sessions will be on SharePoint apps, no shocker! The two sessions are as follows:
Wednesday, May 14 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM
SharePoint 2013 enables developers to create SharePoint Apps that run on the client side in the browser. In this session you’ll learn how to build a SharePoint App using the popular presentation framework AngularJS. We will cover how to best structure your projects and leverage the SharePoint REST API & CSOM to create a great experience for your users, all without refreshing the page! In addition you will also see how to leverage the popular BreezeJS client-side data library to make working with the SharePoint REST API a… well… it'‘‘s a breeze!
DEV-B386 Setting up your on-premises environment for app development
Thursday, May 15 10:15 AM - 11:30 AM
Not every SharePoint customer has moved completely to the Office 365 yet. So how do you leverage the SharePoint app model on-premises? In this session you’ll learn how to correctly setup your development and production environments to create and deploy apps using the provider-hosted cloud app model pattern. We’ll look at the various things developers need to keep in mind when creating provider-hosted apps, how to setup their developer environments and how to move these apps into production. But wait, what if you are in a hybrid situation? No worries! We’ll also discuss how to address having an on-premises and Office 365 hybrid scenario, both in how to set it up as well as how to create develop and deploy apps for it!
